A Week of Low Cost Meals

I  have long wondered how long we could live on the food in the house. Having not been to the grocery for more than a week, this was a good time to find out! The food in the refrigerator is dwindling. The orange juice and the leafy greens are gone and there are no bananas for cereal. In spite of this, we ate pretty well.  This past week was hectic.  A good pantry with herbs and spices are essential to flavorful, delicious meals on the fly.  This is the menu of the first seven day of November.

Mr. C's breakfasts and lunches vary little during the week. Yogurt and orange juice for breakfast.  Lunch is a veggie meat sandwich, chips, cookie, apple and diet pop. My breakfast is cereal: a little Special K, Cheerios, and Shredded Wheat and a banana. If I don't forget to eat lunch, I have left overs or a sandwich, or bread and something (peanutbutter, jam, cheese) or yogurt.
